WHY I CELEBRATE HANUKKAH!!

Yes, I'm a Gentile believer in Yeshua HaMashiac and I celebrate Hanukkah! It has been such a blessing for our family. I'd like to share some of the reasons our family celebrates Channukah and what we do. We actually do something different each year.........due to various reasons. This year we will only be lighting the candles, saying the blessings and reading the corresponding verses/devotions for each night......we'll have some music and making latkes of course :-) It is just hubby and I, so it's very low key.

If you have children you can play the dreidle game, have chocolate gelt, and make very special meals each evening or just the first and last nights of Channukah. Also, you can exchange small gifts each night, or several gifts on the last night.

Some of the reasons *I* celebrate Channakuh are:

Because Yeshua did;

To remind me that my G-d is a G-d who performs miracles and is my deliverer from my enemies (this virus that is trying to kill me and so many other things that are just too *big* for me, He promises to deliver me);

That HE is the LIGHT of the world and dispells the darkness around me.....that I am to be a reflection of HIS light to others;

That I'm to rededicate my *temple* to HaShem.......I am to present my body as a living sacrifice which is my spiritual service of worship;

That I'm not to become assimilated into my culture........that the weapon I have at my disposal to combat assimilation into this culture is the Word of the Living G-d......His Living Torah.........to help me stand up and stand firm against lawlessness, and the godlessness of this age I live in.

I'm to be holy and set-apart unto HIM......I'm to re-evaluate my life at this time to see if there are any idols or paganism in my own life that needs to be torn down so that I can remain pure and cleansed and dedicated to His service, pure and without blemish for my Husband. So as you can see, this holiday has great spiritual meaning for me...... and I believe for all of us who are called by His Name can benefit from observing the miracle that was done there!

I pray as we eat our latkes and other foods with oil to remind us of Yah's miracle, and we sing with joy to Adonai, that we will take time each night to reflect on these lessons....G*d has promised to keep His own and He will deliver us!!! \0/\0/\0/
